I just found this website showing what the tube would look like if it had grown South the way it grew North...

Take a close-up look at this image (courtesy of Lost Lines) - it's so funny to think how different London would be if one of the only places in the West End to have a tube was Oxford Circus....and just look at how pointless some of the tube stops would be!!
